Solo Javier

Why would a young man who is a promise of Spanish sports and comes from a wealthy family leave everything behind? This is the case studied in this documentary directed by Josepmaria Anglès. Javier Sartorius Milans del Bosch came from an aristocratic family in Madrid. He had it all: fame, money, charisma, and he was also one of the great promises of sports in his country. However, his move to the United States made him realize that he could not be further from happiness, and he began to fall into a deep void from which he would not be able to escape. Too many questions and doubts filled the young man's mind, leaving him no choice but to leave everything behind and embark on a path from which he could not return, searching for the meaning of things and life. He sought something that would pull him out of the gray scale in which he was becoming trapped.

It was precisely during his time in the United States that his life changed. Upon seeing the hundreds of homeless people flooding the streets, the already champion of tennis and paddle decided to abandon his life and dedicate himself to being a missionary in the Cuzco area of Peru. There, he underwent a process that changed him and made him view the world differently while seeking his encounter with God. The Spaniard would eventually lose his life in the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees due to a heart attack while battling a severe illness.
