Sons

Eva (Sidse Babett Knudsen) is a woman who works in a prison as a guard. She helps in there to the inmates, as she teaches them mathematics and organizes activities for them, as she believes that anyone can change and be reintegrated into society. However, one day she observes from her window the arrival of a new young man: Mikkel (Sebastian Bull). Eva is instantly paralyzed because she realizes that she knows him. Mikkel was someone important in her past in the worst possible way, and Eva cannot be calmed knowing that he is also in the prison.

Addressing her problem, the woman asks her superior to transfer her to Central Zero, the most dangerous and conflictive area of the place. She finds Mikkel in there, and as she arrives, she gives him a surprise visit to torment his stay. The guard must endure her thirst of revenge and safeguard her hope, but it is impossible for her. Thus, little by little, both she and Mikkel begin to make each other's lives miserable, playing a silent game of chess. Who will win this cold war?

'Sons' is a thriller directed by Gustav Möller ('The Dark Heart'), who also co-writes it with Emil Nygaard Albertsen. Both have worked together on 'The Guilty', the filmmaker's most recent work. Aventura Audiovisual brings the film to Spain.
