Plot
Final film directed by Luis Buñuel which is a free adaptation of the book 'La femme et le pantin' written by Pierre Louys.
'That Obscure Object of Desire' is a drama film that started with the sentimental story that tells Mathieu Faber during a train journey. A story with a seductive main character: Conchita, a former chambermaid who was playing with his emotions causing him a torrent of passion and unbridled desire. A woman capable of provoking love and deepest rejection within his heart.
The film, which deals with the peculiar obsessions and interests of its renowned director, stars Fernando Rey, Ángela Molina, Carole Bouquet, Julien Bertheau and André Weber. The original soundtrack feautures Richard Wagner's songs.
