The Duke of Burgundy

In his fourth film as director Peter Strickland tells the story of a woman, who studies butterflies and moths and tests the limits of her relationship with her lesbian lover. Both women have an unconventional love story. One day after day, they interpret a provocative ritual that ends with one of them, Evelyn, being punished in a session of pleasure and fetishistic sadomasochism. The problem occurs when one of the two prefers to lead a more normal life loving but the erotic obsession of the other complicates everything. The film is starring Sidse Babett Knudsen ('Courted') and Chiara D'Anna ('Berberian Sound Studio') and could be seen at the Festival de Mar del Plata 2014 or 2014 Sitges Festival.
