The Gentiles

Ana (África de la Cruz) is an ordinary 17-year-old teenager, with the typical problems that come with the changes of that age and belonging to a middle-class family. However, everything changes when she meets her new friend Corrales (Paula Díaz). From that moment on, suicide is something that crosses her mind for the first time in her short life. At first, only as something distant, but what began as a game becomes more and more powerful, darker and more disturbing. Social media plays a very important role in the story, as the duality and hypocrisy of what it shows to followers and the reality of what goes on behind the screens is strongly emphasised.

The film has participated in festivals such as Seville, Malaga, Tarragona and the Black Nights Festival in Tallinn. This is Santi Amodeo's sixth feature film, after debuting with 'The Pilgrim Factor' in 2000. His other works include, 'Astronauts', 'Who killled Bambi', 'Doghead' and 'Yo, mi mujer y mi mujer muerta'. Also, he was the director of one episode of the series 'Hispania: la leyenda'. In addition to Díaz and de la Cruz, the cast is completed by Olga Navalón as Pacheco, Lola Buero as Moríñigo and Alva Inger as Tere, among others. It was produced by Grupo Tranquilo and Sacromonte Films.
