Plot

In 'The House', Emma is a young writer from Berlin who is in her late twenties and wants to write a novel that deals with the subject of prostitution and the workers who lend themselves, decide, or are forced to have sex in exchange for money. In order to understand the sentiment and shenanigans of this very particular world, Emma gets into this job as a prostitute in a brothel called La Maison, a place that's very famous in the German capital. Emma's initial plan is to spend two weeks at the whorehouse, however, she ends up staying for two years.

The film is a coproduction from France and Belgium and is based on the book and true story of Emma Becker, a novelist who launched this field strategy where she finally ended up providing sexual services in exchange for money.

In this Radar Pictures production, the writer is played by Ana Girardot, the actress from 'Someone, Somewhere' will share the cast with Aure Atika ('The Beat That My Heart Skipped'), Rossy de Palma ('Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown'), Yannick Renier ('Private Lessons'), Philippe Rebbot ('Where is Kim Basinger?'), Gina Jiménez ('Paris Under Watch'), Nikita Bellucci ('Love') and Lucas Englander ('Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Secrets of Dumbledore') among others.
