Plot
'The Hunt' arrives in March 2020 from the American production company Blumhouse, known for its horror and suspense productions like 'The Purge'; this time they take the thriller genre to another level. Damon Lindelof ('Lost', 'The Leftovers') and Nick Cuse ('The Leftovers', 'Watchmen') wrote the script for this film, which delayed its release for almost a year due to the controversy caused by its plot in the United States.
The story of 'The Hunt' begins with twelve strangers waking up in a clearing in a forest. They find themselves tied up and do not know where they are, but they soon discover that they have all been chosen for a specific purpose. The premise is that as an annual tradition, some members of the American liberal party kidnap a group of "normal" people and place them in an outdoor location to hunt them as if it were a sport.
Although the film features an ensemble cast that includes actors and actresses like Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee, and Hilary Swank, the protagonist of the film is Crystal, played by Betty Giplin. Crystal will be one of the characters that brings the most action to the scenes and is responsible for uncovering the secret behind this tradition: do they really hunt people, or are they all actors?

Trivia
Secret Revealed
In the movie trailer, Betty Gilpin's character, Crystal, rips an Arkansas license plate off a car to reveal the true license plate below and where they really are: Croatia.
Delayed release
The premiere of the film was scheduled for 2019 but in the summer of that year it was canceled due to the violent reactions that provoked the plot of the film.
Bigger reasons
The premise of the film joined the fact that at the beginning of August 2019 there were two shootings in the southern United States and, following the criticism of Donald Trump, the distributor had no choice but to postpone its premiere.
