The Islanders

'The Islanders' places us in a near future, in keys of drama and intrigue. The protagonist is Gaëlle, a 30-year-old woman who lives on a island completely separated from the rest of the world. There, she is responsible for taking care of a small group of elderly people. Suddenly, a sailboat arrives at the island and brings back joy, hustle, and life.

However, Gaëlle does not trust the newcomers to the point that she begins to doubt their intentions. She has good reasons: after the arrival of the travelers, the elderly begin to die one by one. The feature film shifts from a peaceful daily life to an uncontrollable situation that completely disarms Gaëlle.

'The Islanders' is a French film, directed by Alanté Kavaité, and it will premiere in France in March 2025. It stars actress Nadia Tereszkiewicz, who carries the weight of the film in the role of Gaëlle.

Other cast members include Dali Benssalah, Daphné Patakia, Miou-Miou, Patrick Chesnais, Jean-Claude Drouot, Féodor Atkine, and Alexandra Stewart. Kavaité shares the script with Sara Wikler and Raphaëlle Desplechin in this production by Les Films d'Antoine and Estrella Productions.

It is distributed by Vercine and will hit theaters on January 16, 2026.
