The Land of the Sons

In 'The Land of the Sons' the apocalypse has come to wipe out much of humanity. Among the survivors are a father and son. The first one takes care of his descendant like a wild beast as it is the only way he can survive in the world. When the father dies, the son decides to undertake a most risky journey looking for someone who can read him the diary written by his parent that he kept with him throughout his life.

'The Land of the Sons' is a film adaptation of the graphic novel homonymous by by the illustrator, cartoonist and Italian film director Gian Alfonso Pacinotti, better known as Gipi. Claudio Cupellini directs this science fiction drama and writes the screenplay with Guido Iuculano and Filippo Gravino. The cast is headed by newcomer Leon de la Vallée alongside Paolo Pierobon ('Quo vado?', '1994', '1993', 'Up&Down', 'Human Capital', 'I delitti del BarLume', 'Donne sbagliate') and Valeria Golino ('Portrait of a woman on fire', 'Rain man', 'The Morning Show', 'Hot Shots!', 'Hot Shots! 2'). It is completed by actors Maria Roveran ('Piccola patria', 'Non uccidere', 'Resina'), Fabrizio Ferracane ('Black Souls'), Maurizio Donadoni, Franco Ravera, Alessandro Tedeschi, Valerio Mastandrea, Pippo Delbono and, finally, Michelangelo Dalisi.
