Plot
Drama set in the World War II (1939-1945). The movie shows the ship SS Glencairn, which has to travel back to Baltimore after a funny party day in the Antillas islands. When they arrive at their destination, they have to collect a dynamite shipment and travel back home, but the menace of the German submarines make that the voyage becomes an odyssey. The crew of the ship will have to leave their diferencies and support themselves: Driscoll, a migdle-age Irish man; Ole Olsen, a young farmer whose family comes from Sweden, and Smitty, an authentic English gentleman.
Directed by Tom Ford, who won the Best Director award from the New York Critics Circle, 'The Long Voyage Home' obtained 6 nominations to the Oscar awards.
