Plot
Don Birnam, played by Ray Milland, is a failed writer because of his addiction to alcohol. Destroyed physically and morally, he is capable of anything to keep drinking, even stealing. His familiars try to help him, his girlfriend (Jan Wyman) and his brother Wick. For that they organize a special weekend but seems like all their efforts will go in vain. This comedy directed by Billy Wilder was awarded with four Oscars: Best Picture, Director, Actor (Milland) and adapted screenplay. The film also won several Golden Globe for Best Picture, Director and Actor. As international competitions, the film won the Grand Prix Festival (Ex-aequo) and another statuette for Best Actor in Cannes Festival.
