Combining the heroic rutines of Wuxia with the wonderful Russian sense, heir of Aleksandr Ptushko's, Konstantin Ershov's or Aleksandr Rou's movies, Stepchenko builds a product that answers to the Hollywood superproductions in their same terms, although in this ocassion is closed to (and closed by) a Chinese dragon which is about to eat the Russian bear, closing the ember to its martial sardine.

Pastiche among the classic adventure, the martial arts movies, the fantastic telling, the comedy and the action, 'The mystery of the dragon seal' may remember some of the powerful historical events of Terry Gilliam, mainly on 'The Adventures of Baron Munchausen', although some of the most superficial aspects and falling into the only defect of monty phyton: the difficulties to tell a story with a fluent narrative and it doesn't seem episodic.
