Plot
'The Priest's Prison' is a documentary that gathers the testimonies of some priests who were imprisoned in the prison of priests of Zamora, created under the concordat between the dictatorship of Franco and the Vatican, for giving sermons denouncing Franco?s repression. In the film , four of those who were inmates of this prison return to this Concordat Prison (the only one in the world founded exclusively for religious) with the aim of recovering a history still unknown today in which 53 priests of Madrid, Galicia, Catalonia and the Basque Country were victims of this conviction. Also participate in 'The Priest's Prison' the prisoners Xabier Amuriza, Josu Naberan, Juan Mari Zulaika, Eduard Fornés, Julen Kaltzada, Jon Etxabe, Periko Solabarria, Periko Berrioategortua, Juan Mari Arregi, Martin Orbe, Felipe Izagirre Vicente Couce, Nicanor Acosta, Mariano Gamo, Josep Maria Garrido, Andreu Vila, Jose Antonio Calzada, Mikel Zuazabeitia or Pablo Muñoz.
The film is directed by filmmakers Oier Aranzabal ('Margolaria (The Painter)'), Ritxi Lizartza and David Pallarés ('Vampidelia', 'Nuestra voz', 'La segunda patria'), produced by the companies Azaroa Films, Maluta Films and Zabriskie Films and scripted by Jon Mikel Aldanondo and Javier Barajas.
