The Punishment

Ana and Mateo's son Lucas disappears after being left alone for a few minutes as punishment for misbehaving. This desperate search occurs in real time and is set in a forest and a road. In 80 minutes, the couple will have to face emotions of guilt and fear, along with the fragility of their relationship and the harshest of revelations: a part of Ana hopes never to find her son because she has not found happiness since he was born.

'The Punishment' explores through a long sequence shot the psychology of a mother who regrets her motherhood and brings to the table an unspeakable conflict faced by thousands of women. Written by Coral Maria Cruz Pacheco, the film is directed by Matías Bize. The main cast includes Antonia Zegers as Ana, Néstor Cantillana as Mateo, and Santiago Urbina as Lucas, who share the screen with Catalina Saavedra and Yair Juri.
