The Shiny Shrimps's reviews
Media reviews
El País
Festive despite the dramatic touch, this comedy is well-built and technically solvent popular cinema. And although (almost) everything is seen coming, add two elements that may be the most interesting of the function.
New York Times
The movie has plenty to say, and is best when debating the limits of free speech and contemporary identity politics (an argument about trans competitors in sport is particularly sharp).
Cinemanía
One hundred minutes of social awareness and purple smoke, almost like electronic cigarettes. Smoking cologne, come on.
The Guardian
It?s a well-meaning film, but the humour doesn?t travel particularly well.

?The shiny shrimp? is something like the filmic creature that would arise if we crossed two films last year, ?Champions? and ?The great bath?. From Javier Fesser's, you only have to change disabled intellectuals for gays and basketball for water polo.
The Hollywood Reporter
What keeps the whole thing from flying off the rails is the directors' command of tone and the sincerity of Gob's performance.
