The Time of The Doves

Based on the novel by Mercè Rodoreda. 'The Time of The Doves' is set in the summer of 1928, a few years earlier before the Spanish Civil War. In the square, located in the emblematic Barrio de Gracia, the festival is celebrated in the area. There the young Natalia meets a handsome hunk. That meeting will be decisive for the young girl, who will become someone completely dependent on her love. This man, manipulative, do with it what he wants. Since then, Natalia stop responding for her name to be called Columeta, as well wants her now husband. 'The Time of The Doves' is a faithful chronicle the historical moment that Spain lived during the interwar period, at a time of upheaval with the Second Republic on the verge of collapse. Then it will become a faithful portrait of the Barcelona of the war and how it affected Spain that dark and cruel dictatorship period.
