Time is drawing in. On the 3rd April, fans will finally get their hands on the fourth part of 'Money Heist' (originally titled 'La casa de papel') when it premieres on Netflix. Although very little is known about how the plot threads will continue to weave and tangle together in this next batch of episodes and the cast and crew have remained tight-lipped about the fates of our favourite characters, we have done our utmost to uncover every clue we can about this internationally successful Spanish drama.

Season 4 of 'Money Heist' is set to be

On the 16th January, the Premios Feroz, a Spain-based ceremony of film awards, were hosted in Alcobendas (Madrid), where 'Money Heist' failed to take home any awards despite being nominated in three categories, including Best Drama Series, which instead went to the Moviestar+ series 'Hierro'.

Amongst the other categories, Alba Flores was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Nairobi whereas Álvaro Morte was up for Best Leading Actor for his role as The Professor.

When the cast and team hit the red carpet following the ceremony, we leapt at the chance to ask the show's director, Jesús Colmenar, and The Professor himself, Álvaro Mortes, just what we can expect to see in the upcoming season, to which Colmenar answered, "it's going to be very different from the third part, and much darker".

Spain's International Netflix Success

When it comes to Netflix originals, the shows coming from Spain have proved to be hugely successful within the international market. The third part of 'Money Heist' smashed records when it became the most-watched Netflix series or film of all time across many global territories, proving that not only was there a market for non-English language dramas - they thrived in it.

'Money Heist' is not the only international success story to hail from Spain, however. Teen drama 'Elite' also became something of a sensation when its story of murder, betrayal and desire hit the streaming platform to the extent that Netflix has already renewed the series for a fourth and fifth season despite the fact that the third one is not released until March 2020. 'Cable Girls', a glitzy historical, and 'The Department of Time', a time-travelling epic, have both also enjoyed considerable success on the platform. The popularity of these series suggests that Netflix is committing to an international future that will hopefully continue to bring high-quality projects to our screens.

The fourth part of 'Money Heist' will launch on Netflix on the 3rd April 2020. Bella ciao.
