The 'Peaky Blinders' had its premiere in Birmingham October the 30th, ahead of the release of its 4th season.

The premiere took place at Cineworld on Broad Street and the cast and crew were all present, including Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory, who play Tommy Shelby and Aunt Polly, respectively. Also in attendance were, Sophie Rundle and Paul Anderson, who play siblings, Ada and Arthur Shelby.

The show has had its premiere in various different locations around the city over the years, including The Everyman Cinema at the Mailbox for season 3. This year, The Bull's Head, on Bishopsgate Street, transformed itself into the famous Garrison pub, owned by Tommy Shelby and co in the series, in order to celebrate.

The series has always premiered in Birmingham given that the real life gang originated from the city. The series however, is shot up and down the country, with the majority of scenes being filmed up North in Manchester. One particular site used in the Midlands however, is that of the Black Country Museum.

Little over a month ago, the BBC announced with a post on social media that the new season of Peaky Blinders was ready. The post was accompanied by a trailer and introduced us to the new additions to the cast including, Adrien Brody, from 'The Grand Budapest Hotel', and Game of Thrones' Aidan Gillen.

"We're going back home", Tommy is heard saying, leaving many fans excited to see the action return to the Birmingham streets, instead of those further afield in Warwickshire and London, for example.

Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory sat down with BBC Midlands Today yesterday to shed a bit more light on the upcoming season.

Ahead of the premiere, Steven Knight, the series writer, also mentioned how this season "is another level", and that the previous seasons "don't compare". One thing for sure we can't wait until the series hits our screens!

The BBC now have a release date for season 4, and we're delighted confirm that the series will return to BBC 2 on Wednesday 15th November!

You can also catch season 3 once more on BBC 2 from 1st November.
