Following the recent conclusion of the second season of 'American Crime Story' entitled 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace', Ryan Murphy has spoken out about his plans for the return of his other show, 'American Horror Story'. Speaking at TCA, the showrunner let on to what's in store for us in season 8 of the show, which is rumoured to be called 'American Horror Story: Radioactive'.

 Evan Peters

The last season of the show. 'AHS: Cult' portrayed an alternative reality in the US as a result of Trump's presidency. Murphy has since revealed that the upcoming season will take place "18 months from today".

"It's not necessarily as real and grounded as the past season. We're sort of getting back to Asylum, and Coven. That's the tone of it", continued Murphy.

Who we'll see in the new season?

Despite knowing very little about the upcoming season, we do know that Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates and Evan Peters will be returning. The latter actor will have a comedic role as a hairstylist. Living legend, Joan Collins will be playing Peters' grandmother.

Addressing rumours that Anjelica Huston could be joining the cast, Murphy hinted that they were in talks about. There was no mention of a potential Jessica Lange return, unfortunately.

Murphy is incredibly busy with a whole catalogue of shows to his name and a new contract worth $300 million with Netflix, but none of that has affected the showrunner's dedication to AHS. Filming for season 8 commences early June.
