Ever since his debut in Hollywood, we've become used to seeing at least one new Woody Allen production each year. Currently we're waiting on the release of 'Wonder Wheel', a new film featuring Kate Winslet and Justin Timberlake. The film under speculation isn't set for release until sometime in 2018.

Thanks to Page Six, we've been able to find out a bit more about the upcoming flick. The film, which wouldn't have been very well received by many to begin with, is much less anticipated now following the Harvey Weinstein scandal.

Allen himself, has confirmed that his new film focusses primarily on a middle aged male who spends his nights with women much younger than him. In line with the script, the male protagonist, "makes a fool of himself over every ambitious starlet and model."

Whilst the backlash against Allen's new project isn't bound to go down well, the problem doesn't end there. In the film, thanks to Rebecca Hall's character, it is revealed that Jude Law's character is maintaining a sexual relationship with a 15 year old, played by Elle Fanning, who is actually 19 in real life.

A rainy day

The day after Page Six released it's article on Woody Allen, the director sat down for an interview with Inquirer, in which he revealed the name of his new project: 'Rainy Day in New York'. The film will include stars such as, Selena Gomez, Liev Schreiber, Suki Waterhouse and Kelly Rohrbach. The motion picture won't hit cinemas until 2018, but it's already roused its fair share of controversy.

It's likely that Allen is on a slippery slope of his own, following his comments on the Weinstein situation: "You also don't want it to lead to a witch hunt atmosphere, a Salem atmosphere, where every guy in an office who winks at a woman is suddenly having to call a lawyer to defend himself". The director was also accused and acquitted in the 90s of sexually assaulting his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow.
