'Autodefensa' is a Spanish comedy-drama TV series with an experimental tone that portrays, without filters, the existential confusion of a young generation in search of identity. Created, written, and starring Berta Prieto and Belén Barenys, the fiction follows two twenty-something friends living in Barcelona who, amidst parties, precarious jobs, chaotic relationships, and existential crises, try to find their place in a world they feel is hostile, contradictory, and full of impossible expectations.

The series was produced by Filmin in collaboration with Producciones del Barrio, the production company of Andreu Buenafuente, which backed the project after the viral success of its creators on social media. It premiered on the platform in November 2022 and consists of a season of 10 short episodes, through agile, direct pieces with a style close to personal diary or mockumentary, where the line between fiction and reality constantly blurs.

In addition to Prieto and Barenys playing fictional versions of themselves, the cast includes appearances from actors and collaborators from the protagonists' creative and cultural environment, reinforcing the generational and almost autobiographical nature of the project. The narrative relies on spontaneous dialogues, uncomfortable situations that address themes such as anxiety, feminism, labor precariousness, sex, mental health, and social pressure in the digital age.

'Autodefensa' has become one of the most talked-about series in Filmin's catalog, generating debate for its provocative tone, explicit language, and raw perspective on contemporary youth. It has been praised for its authenticity and criticized for its radicality. The fiction achieved a notable media and cultural impact and was marked as a risky proposal representative of new ways of storytelling in Spanish audiovisual.
