Devious Maids

'Devious Maids' is a TV series created by Marc Cherry ('Desperate Housewives') and produced by Cherry Productions along with ABC Studios, to be broadcast by the Lifetime network.

It centers on a group of Latina housemaids who work for the wealthiest families in the prestigious neighborhood of Beverly Hills.

After the death of Flora Hernández, one of the maids, Marisol, Zoila, Carmen, and the newcomer Rosie decide to investigate what happened. They will try to uncover the mystery of this fatal murder, convinced that the powerful families for whom they work are hiding something.

While trying to discover the truth behind their friend's death, the four women strive to achieve their own professional and personal dreams. All while cleaning the homes of the rich, eccentric, and unbearable families who look down on them. 

In their ongoing meetings, the maids exchange doubts and bring to light the darkest secrets of the families. A web of lies, betrayals, and appearances unfolds before the four. The series combines mystery with drama and humor, built with a marked influence from 'Desperate Housewives' but from a Latino and socially marked perspective.

'Devious Maids' had four seasons that aired between 2013 and 2016, which garnered a solid audience. The series had a significant impact on the public by highlighting Latina protagonists in a mainstream American series, all while addressing issues such as social inequality, immigration, and cultural clash.

The cast was led by Ana Ortiz (Marisol), Dania Ramírez (Rosie), Roselyn Sánchez (Carmen), and Judy Reyes (Zoila). Thanks to its great success, it established itself as one of the most prominent fiction series on the Lifetime network.
