El príncipe

'The Prince' is a Spanish TV series that combines drama, romance, and police genre. It was produced by Plano por Plano for Telecinco and became one of the most ambitious bets of national fiction in the 2010s.

The story is set in the dangerous neighborhood of El Príncipe located in Ceuta, where Fran (José Coronado), a corrupt police officer, imposes order using unorthodox methods. This will change with the arrival of Morey (Alex González), a police officer tasked with investigating the alleged collaboration of the police with a jihadist network.

The presence of the agent will disrupt the fragile balance of the neighborhood and uncover a complex web of personal interests and conflicting loyalties.

The investigation will complicate when Morey meets Fátima (Hiba Abouk), a Muslim teacher who becomes the emotional axis of the story. Fátima does not fit the traditional model imposed by her environment. 

Fátima opposes the criminal activities of her brother Faruq Ben Barek (Rubén Cortada), a local drug trafficker, as well as the customs of her family.

The series has two seasons, aired from 2014 to 2016, accumulated great audience success and managed to have over five million viewers in some of its episodes. It had a significant impact on the audience for addressing issues such as jihadist terrorism, cultural coexistence, and police corruption.

The cast includes Stany Coppet, Elia Galera, Thaïs Blume, Pau Durà, Juan Pablo Shuk, Nerea Barros, and Carlos Bardem, among others. It remains one of the most remembered series of the network thanks to its plot full of tension, romance, and social conflict.
