Sinopsis
'Lucifer' is a TV series that combines police drama with fantasy. Created by Tom Kapinos ('Californication', 'Dawson's Creek'), it is based on an adaptation of the DC Comics character that belongs to the comic book series 'The Sandman' and has been further developed in its own spin-off with 'Lucifer'.
Lucifer (Tom Ellis, 'Miranda'), the King of Hell, is the protagonist of this fiction that follows the adventures of this fallen angel who, bored with his life ruling the underworld, decides to leave his throne to make a place for himself in the nightlife scene of Los Angeles.
There, Lucifer will become a successful businessman thanks to the nightclub Lux, one of the most exclusive clubs in the city, while his loyal and deadly ally Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt, 'The Librarians') accompanies him.
The plot takes a turn when a celebrity whom Lucifer had helped to achieve fame is murdered in front of his club. From that moment on, the fallen angel decides to collaborate with the police department and form a most peculiar alliance with detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German, 'Chicago Fire') to solve the mysteries of his missions.
Although crimes will not be the only thing keeping Lucifer's mind occupied, while he helps his police partner, his mind will be plagued with moral dilemmas as he questions his own nature.
The series aired from 2016 to 2021, during which it accumulated a total of six seasons. After the third, the FOX network wanted to cancel it; however, thanks to the support of fans, Netflix came to the rescue to prevent this from happening.
The series mixes the plot of police shows like 'Castle' or 'Sherlock' from the BBC, with biblical mythology, humor, and romantic drama.
The main cast includes Kevin Alejandro (Dan Espinoza), D.B. Woodside (Amenadiel), Rachael Harris (Linda Martin), Aimee Garcia (Ella Lopez), and Scarlett Estevez (Trixie).

The incidental music all references god, hell or the devil.
In the comic the main characters' appearances differ greatly from the show. Maze is drawn with white skin and no flesh on half of her face. Amenadiel is also white and appears much older. And Lucifer himself was drawn, under strict instructions from Neil Gaiman, to look like David Bowie.
Based on the DC Comic character Lucifer Morningstar from the comic 'Sandman'.
