Biography

Joonas Suotamo was born in Finland, and he is both, a basketball player and an actor. Since he was just a child, Suotamo enjoyed acting. He liked music, arts and movies so he decided to study Film and Video at the Pennsylvania State University. All his life he thought that his high (2,09 m), which was perfect for basketball, was going to be an issue for his performing career. However, his coach got him an audition, they needed a man with clear eyes and more than two meters high. That wey was how Joonas Suotamo managed to be Chewbacca's (Peter Mayhew) stuntman in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' and only a few months later, he would become the face of that iconic character permanently in 'Han Solo Solo' Star Wars Story '.
