Kim was born in South Corea in 1968. after a long career in theater he managed to get little parts in tv series and low budget movies. However, fame came with the movie 'The Chaser', which achieved certain success outside his frontiers and reached promptly the status of cult film. After this essential role in his career he participated in others films of great importance for his country like 'The Yellow Sea' or 'The Thieves', which became the 2º highest-grossing corean film of his country.
