'Chaplin: The Spirit of the Tramp' Trailer

'Chaplin: The Spirit of the Tramp' is the name given to the documentary made by the granddaughter of the actor, director and producer. Daughter of one of the interpreter's eight children, Michael, Carmen Chaplin directs this project.

To do this, she uses statements from the entire family (which has dedicated their lives to entertainment and art), home videos, unpublished documents and other types of materials. Born in London in 1889, Chaplin would introduce his iconic character, Charlot, when he was barely twenty years old. During World War II, Chaplin openly supported the Soviet Union, which would make him new enemies.

This causes him, tired of the United States, to settle in Europe to live a quieter life. He would not return to the U.S. until 1972 to receive an Honorary Oscar. The interpreter would die five years later because of natural causes. However, his legacy will be eternal, and 'Chaplin: The Spirit of the Tramp' is a proof of it.
