Trailer 'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom' (2026)

Aardman Animations presents the new trailer for 'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom', the latest instalment starring British animation's most celebrated sheep. With a tone that blends physical comedy and adventure, the film points to a story with horror undertones set during the Halloween festivities, maintaining the dialogue-free humour that has come to define the franchise.

The trailer opens with a voiceover warning of a legend "so terrifying it will leave viewers speechless", heralding the arrival of a mysterious creature in Mossy Bottom. The preview plays with the atmosphere of classic monster stories, but subverts it with the visual gags the saga is known for: Shaun and his flock face the unknown in what is presented as a race against the clock to save Halloween. The edit alternates between moments of restrained tension and comic situations that make full use of the characters' body language, without revealing the exact nature of the titular beast.

The production is British in origin and comes from Aardman Animations, the studio behind such beloved franchises as 'Wallace and Gromit' and 'Chicken Run', as the trailer itself reminds us. Aardman is renowned for its plasticine and clay animation technique, though the Shaun franchise combines that heritage with stop-motion puppet animation techniques.
