Plot

Terence Davies focuses on the figure of Emily Dickinson poet, who had to live most of her time in the house that her parents had in Amherst, Massachusetts. Through 'A Quiet Passion', we discover who was really this unconventional woman born in 1803, and due to an emotional trauma, she had to leave school even being considered a very talented young woman. Her family's house will be the scenario in which elapses the film and where we see the Emily evolution that her life took since Dickinson became a recluse and began writing poems, without getting the recognition he deserved in life.

Cynthia Nixon ('Sex and the City'), Jennifer Ehle ('The Kings Speech'), Keith Carradine and Duncan Duff star in the film.
