Plot

Antonio Ricci is a Roman unemployed worker during the period of postwar in Italy. They offer a job putting up posters with the only requirement to own a bicycle. To get it, he should pawning almost everything what his family had. The first day of work goes smoothly until things go awry when, while working, someone steals the bike and runs away with it. Antonio pursues him, however he loses sight of losing your bike. People in Italy are hungry, and everyone is desperate to get a job. Antonio knows he will lose the job without his bike, so he starts to look desperately around the city. Representative film of the movement that emerged in the 40s and continued in the 50s known as Italian neorealism.
