'Buñuel in the Labyrinth of the Turtles' trivia and fun facts

Inspired by real facts

The film is inspired by real facts that happen to Buñuel when he moved on to Las Hurdes, Cáceres, to film his famous documental 'Land Without Bread' (1933). This documental saved him from the failed premiere of 'Age of Gold'. Extremadura and specially Las Hurdes was a dismal, poor and illiterate zone that few time later gets more impoverished and isolated because of the Civil War.

Awarded since its release

It got the Feroz Puerta Oscura award for the best picture in Spanish language during the Malaga Cinema Festival 2019.

This feature film is based on Fermín Solís' comic book.
