Challengers

American romantic sports comedy-drama film starring Zendaya, Josh O'Connor and Mike Faist.

Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her style of play on or off the court, is married to a tennis great who It happens with a bad streak of defeats. Tashi's strategy for the redemption of her husband takes a surprising turn when he must confront Patrick, her former best friend and Tashi's ex-boyfriend. As her pasts and presents collide and tensions rise, Tashi must ask herself how much it will cost her to win.

At the helm of 'Challengers' we find Luca Guadagnino, director of 'Call Me by Your Name' and 'To the Bone', among several other titles, nominated for an Oscar and a BAFTA. The Italian filmmaker works on a script signed by Justin Kuritzke.

The production is carried out by Amy Pascal, Guadagnino, Zendaya and Rachel O'Connor, with Bernard Bellew as executive producer. Featuring Guadagnino's regular collaborators such as director of photography Sayonbhu Mukdeeprom, production designer Merissa Lombardo and editor Marco Costa, as well as costume designer Jonathan Anderson. The film's music is the work of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross ('Soul', 'The Social Network', 'To the Bone'), winners of the Oscar, the Golden Globe and the BAFTA.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures is the lead producer of 'Challengers', in collaboration with Why Are You Acting?, Frenesy Films and Pascal Pictures Production, and is distributed by Warner Bros., which presents its premiere in Spain on April 26, 2024.
