Sam (Noomi Rapace, 'Jack Ryan'), a highly experienced bodyguard who is well-versed in counterterrorist procedures, impresses when working to guard the press in the Moroccan desert. As a result, Sam is hired to protect the young Zoe Hassine (Sophie Nélisse, 'The Book Thief'). Zoe is grieving her late father, who in his will left her all of his shares in Hassine Mines, a company that is on the brink of a potentially lucrative deal that would make Zoe an extremely wealthy heiress, indeed. Zoe's mother, Rima (Indira Varma, 'Carnival Row'), tasks Sam with escorting Zoe home safely, only for both women to discover that dangers lurk within the walls of Zoe's supposed safe haven, too. After an attempted break in and kidnapping of Zoe, Sam decides that she will stay beyond the period stipulated in her contract in order to protect her and teach Zoe how to fight for and defend herself. When the Moroccan police appear to be corrupt and in on the ploy to take Zoe hostage, Sam and Zoe hide in Casablanca and ultimately decide to flee Morocco. The film follows them as they flee from the forces that pursue them in this power-hungry game of greed. Directed by Vicky Jewson and written by Jewson along with Rupert Whitaker, 'Close' is a female-led action thriller. Hide full plot... Show full plot
