Plot
The film centres around Oscar Madly (Connor Jessup), in a coming of age story with a twist. 'Closet Monster' blends gory fantasy and reality, as the film jumps seamlessly from the world around us to Oscar's private thoughts and fears. This mixture of supernatural and the mundane see to elevate a dreary town into something magical. Especially with the 90s decor the director seems to favor. Stephen Dunn pays homage to Joss Whedon and in particular, 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. 'Closet Monster' is Stephen Dunn's debut movie in the world of feature length films. Also starring Aliocha Schneider as Wilder, Oscar's forbidden love interest, Sofia Banzhaf as Gemma, and Isabella Rossellini as a talking hamster.
