Plot

'Country Lines' follows a mother and her teenage son as they get drawn into the world of drug trafficking. The title refers to the term used to describe the little-known process of using children to ferry drugs from major cities to rural areas. Toni (Ashley Madekwe, 'Tell Me a Story', 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', 'The Umbrella Academy') is a single mother struggling to provide for her troubled 14-year-old son, Tyler (Conrad Khan, 'The Huntsman: Winter's War', 'Black Mirror', 'Virtuoso'), and her daughter, Aliyah (Tabitha Milne-Price). When Tyler is excluded from school, he feels directionless until the intimidating local criminal Simon (Harris Dickinson, 'Maleficent: Mistress of Evil', Trust', 'The King's Man') shows up searching for teenagers to become couriers for various narcotics, transporting them to coastal towns. What starts as a way to earn some extra money for his household turns into an all-consuming spiral as Tyler falls deeper and deeper into the world of drug smuggling.

'Country Lines' is written and directed by Henry Blake, whose other works include 'Gus & Son', 'In His Own Skin' and 'Snake Pit'. Joining the cast are Marcus Rutherford ('Obey', 'The Wheel of Time'), Carlyss Peer ('The Feed', 'Silent Witness') and Johanna Stanton ('Compulsion', 'Injustice').
