Plot

Seven years after 'Despicable Me 3', the character created by Sergio Pablos returns. He does so by becoming an agent of the new Anti-Villain League, in a story that promises plenty of adventure, enjoyment, and fun for the whole family.

Illumination is the production company behind it, responsible for some of the highest-grossing animated films in recent years, including 'Minions: The Rise of Gru' and 'Super Mario Bros: The Movie'.

In this story, the original voices of Steve Carell ('The Office', 'Little Miss Sunshine') and Kristen Wiig ('Bridesmaids', 'Ghostbusters') will return as the characters Gru and Lucy. In the Spanish dubbed version, viewers will hear the dialogues, as usual, through the diction of Florentino Fernández, a regular collaborator of Santiago Segura, and Patricia Conde. The famous tone of the minions will also be present, created by Pierre Coffin, who for the first time steps away from the directing role.

After being absent in 'Despicable Me 3', Chris Renaud returns behind the camera. This time he will be accompanied by Patrick Delage, a filmmaker only experienced in short films, but who has already participated as an animation director in other works of the studio: the sequels to 'Sing' and 'The Secret Life of Pets'.

Among the producers are Chris Meledandri, the founding mind and executive of Illumination, and Brett Hoffman. The film is written by Mike White ('School of Rock', 'The White Lotus') and Ken Daurio, who was responsible for the scripts of the first two installments.

The saga welcomes the new Gru Junior, as well as the villains Maxime Le Mal and Valentina, whose voices in the English version will be provided by Will Ferrell ('Zoolander', 'Barbie') and Sofia Vergara ('Modern Family', 'Chef'). Other voices will be provided by Joey King ('The Conjuring'), Steve Coogan ('Philomena', 'Night at the Museum'), Chloe Fineman ('Babylon'), and Stephen Colbert ('The Colbert Report').
