Three middle-aged friends who haven't seen each other in a long time, Blanca, Carmen, and Rosa, meet to go rabbit hunting at a hunting ground that Blanca has inherited from her uncle José. They are accompanied by Diana, Rosa's niece.

Each of them is going through a different moment in their lives. They share, amidst laughter, some confidences: infidelities, separations, alcoholism problems, their relationships with their children, key professional projects. This good atmosphere gradually becomes more heated, leading to a confrontation that will take them back to that same place, sixty years ago, when, on another hunting day, a tragedy occurred.

'Día de caza' is a psychological drama that blends realism and poetry. The present and the past on the same stage: Pedro Aguilera offers a reinterpretation of Carlos Saura's 1966 work, 'La caza', delving into the social background of the original but with a perspective tied to the present. With a staging rich in symbolism, Aguilera's proposal approaches themes such as violence, emotional weariness, and the burden of the past, through the female perspective of the protagonists, unlike Saura's film which was rooted in a male perspective.
