Dunki

Four friends from a small town in Punjab dream of going to England but they don't have tickets or approved visas. Their lives change when one day a soldier arrives and promises to take them to the land of their dreams. Together, they embark on a dangerous journey that tests their courage and ideologies. 'Dunki' is a moving story of friendships, borders, homesickness, and love.

'Dunki' is an upcoming Indian comedy-drama film in Hindi based on "Donkey Escape", an illegal immigration technique. The film is directed and edited by Rajkumar Hirani and produced under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment and Jio Studios. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal (in a special appearance) and Boman Irani.

Principal photography began in April 2022 and concluded a year later in April 2023. Filming took place in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kashmir, Budapest, London, Jeddah and Neom. The soundtrack is composed by Pritam, while Aman Pant composed the background score. CK Muraleedharan, Manush Nandan and Amit Roy handled the cinematography of the film.

'Dunki' has its theatrical release worldwide on December 21, 2023 with Shah Rukh Khan as Hardayal "Hardy" Singh Dhillon. The film's trailer titled 'Dunki: Drop 1' was released on November 2, 2023, coinciding with Khan's 58th birthday.
