Fauna

'Fauna' is a mexican film that is written, directed, produced and edited by Nicolás Pereda. The film moves between comedy, fiction and documentary. 'Fauna' tells us the story of two brothers: Luisa (played by Luisa Pardo) and Gabino (played by Lázaro Gabino Rodríguez). Both of them decided one day to visit their parents, who live in a remote little town that is located in the northern part of Mexico. But when they artived, they face an awkward situation when both of their parents are absolutely fascinated by Paco (Francisco Barreiro), Luisa's boyfriend, who woks as an actor. Paco is very well-known for playing the role of a real drug dealer in a famous television show like 'Narcos'. This quickly piques the interest of Luisa and Gabino's father. This family meeting will cause a series of tensions between the brothers, so Gabino decides to imagine with his sister an escape route, in order to cope with this family reunion. Both will imagine their particular fiction, like it was a parallel reality, in a story that have detectives, organized crimes and different plots of action that are also conected with each other. This story is based on the things that they know about drug-dealers, that comes maily from literature and TV programs.
