'How to Talk to Girls at Parties' is set in Croydon, London in 1977 and is based on the book by author, Neil Gaiman. The storyline focuses on Enn, just your average teenage guy with a typical boy-next-door persona, who also happens to be in to punk. At a house party one day, he meets Zan, and assumes she?s just a normal girl, but there?s a lot more her than Enn initially realises.The two strike up a friendship with one another, their love for the musical genre of punk uniting them. The film is directed by John Cameron Mitchell and adapted from Neil Gaiman?s novel by Philippa Goslett. Enn is played by Alex Sharp, whereas Elle Fanning portrays Zan. Nicole Kidman also features in this science-fiction meets rom-com production.

Nicole Kidman and Alex Sharp rehearsed their scenes in Kidman's dressing room at the Michael Grandage Theater in London, because she was busy finishing the West End run of her play "Photograph 51". Filming took 30 days.
