Plot
Agathe is a woman of the most contradictory nature. Despite being single, she dreams of living a love story worthy of the works of Jane Austen. Additionally, she is a bookseller but dreams of becoming a writer someday. She has a lot of imagination but no sexuality. Her life never turns out to be as she expects, up to the standards of literature. She receives an invitation to attend a writers' residency in England, and she must confront her fears and doubts to achieve her dream of becoming a writer... and finding love.
The director is Laura Piani ('Plan B', 'Voir le jour', 'Ronde De Nuit', 'Temps de Chien!', 'Philharmonia', 'Menina'), who offers a dramatic comedy filled with romance, humor, and introspection. It is the director's first feature film, which she also writes, telling the story of Agathe, a bookseller who is single and seeks love and personal fulfillment. The film is set in the (real) Shakespeare & Co. bookstore in Paris and in a fictional writers' residency inspired by the life and work of Jane Austen.
It is a modern romantic comedy with multiple literary references that promises to be a love letter to the great literary classics and romantic comedies. Starring Camille Rutherford as Agathe, alongside Pablo Pauly and Charlie Anson.
