'Krampus' trivia and fun facts

Krampus was the focus in the December 13, 2013 episode of 'Grimm' entitled "Twelve days of Krampus.

In Austria, the Krampus is a goat-like creature that accompanies St. Nicholas (whom the Dutch call Sinterklaas, the name that Santa Claus is based upon) to terrorize naughty children.

The Krampus's final design was distilled from various postcards and illustrations of the creature over the years.

Krampus was featured in a "scare zone" for Universal Studios Hollywood's Halloween Horror Nights 2014.

Director Michael Dougherty says that, in his film, Krampus is Santa Claus's shadow.
