Late Shift

Floria is a nurse very dedicated to her work. She works in the surgical wing of a Swiss hospital and, day after day, she stands firm to not tremble. Her gaze is attentive and her voice is calm, bringing a sense of care to her patients. She is always willing to listen or console.

One night Floria finds herself faced with a shift that pulls her until she finds her limits. The hospital is short-staffed and, along with the avalanche of patients, the hospital is overwhelmed.

Everyone is demanding something, whether they are patients or family members. For public attention or private insurance, no one passes by unnoticed. Despite the bad manners, she keeps going, facing a system that places her on the front line in situations that keep her vulnerable.

''Late Shift'' shows the real work behind healthcare. The hidden face of patient care, the effort and dedication it entails. The frantic pace and the mistreatment that healthcare staff must silence to maintain a facade of trust in front of others. A patient will not feel calm if the doctor does not, which is why the protagonist must wear a mask that hides her stress and exhaustion to prevent her weakening from contributing to the collapse of the shift.
