Plot
In 2013, David Sandberg filmed a short film called 'Lights out'. With this movie, David Sandberg picks up that idea about a creature that appears when the lights disappear and then start to haunt. In this film, a woman is trapped by the monster.
Rebecca is the protagonist of 'Lights out', a young woman who has been chased by Diana since she was a little girl. Diana is a creature that appears when the lights turn off and Diana's spirit is related with Rebecca's mother. Now, Diana's target is Rebecca's little brother, Martin.
Written by Eric Heisserer and David F. Sandberg, and directed by David. F. Sandberg, 'Lights out' have in its cast with Teresa Palmer, Emily Alyd Lind, Alicia Vela-Bailey, Amiah Miller and Gabriel Bateman.

Authentic light
Director David Sandberg aimed to use as much authentic lighting for the film as possible and some scenes are only lit by candlelights or fluorescent tubes.
Mannequins
The mannequins in the basement were not brought in for the movie. It was already placed there by the owner of the house.
Teresa Palmer is the second Australian actress to lead a horror film produced by James Wan. The first one was Rose Byrne in 'Insidious'.
