After Marie (Karolina Gruszka) and Pierre Curie (Charles Berling) won the Nobel Prize in Physics, Pierre died in a tragic accident. Alone and with two children, Marie clung to her scientific studies in a world dominated by men, thus becoming the first woman to receive a chair at the University of the Sorbonne (Paris). Then, Marie falls in love with a married scientist and, together, begins an affair. When the woman of him finds out, victim of the jealousy, she makes public the relation of its husband. This coincides with the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1911. So instead of enjoying the fame deserved for her research work, Marie is vilified to commit adultery. This story of Marie Curie's discoveries, love, unloving and triumphs is recounted in the biopic of Maria Noëlle.
