Leonard is an insurance investigator whose memory is irreversibly damaged because of a blow to the head while he was trying to prevent the murder of his wife -the last fact recalls its long-term memory- Because of the hit, he can't retain in memory the things that happen beyond a few minutes. Each little time left, Leonard can't remember the last thing that has happened and is in a unknown place or with an unknown person. But that is no impediment to Leonard on the way to avenge the death of his wife. With the help of tattoos that is getting in his body and photographs of an instant camera also used as notes, it will be investigated to find the murderer of his deceased wife.
