Plot

'The photographer of Monte Verità' presents us with the story of Hannah, a young mother who in 1906 feels suffocated and corseted in her role as a bourgeois lady, with the corresponding social limitations that this entails. Tired of the life she has had to live, she decides to flee to the Monte Verità sanatorium, one of the most progressive places on planet Earth, where freedom is not a utopia, but a proven reality. There he will melt into the idyllic nature of the canton of Ticino and decide to give himself body and soul to the craft of art, which he had always wanted to do. However, after this journey of introspection, she feels changed, so she must face a painful decision: Will she be able to return to her family and take care of her daughter without giving up on herself or denying herself the things that she is truly passionate about? Directed by Stefan Jäger and written by Kornelija Naraks, the Swedish film features a cast made up of Maresi Riegner, Max Hubacher, Julia Jentsch, Hannah Herzsprung, Joel Basman, Philipp Hauß, Daniel Brasini, Tiana Distefano, Alina Distefano, Eleonora Chiocchini and Michael Finger. It is produced by Tellfilm, KGP Kranzelbinder Gabriele Production, Coin Film and MMC Movies Cologne, while distribution in Spain is handled by A Contracorriente Films.
