On the Beach at Night Alone

After having an affair with a married movie director, the actress Younghee (Min-hee Kim) decides to take some time to clear her mind traveling to Hamburg. When she returns again to her home in South Korea and meets again with her friends and family they start to make questions about the director and about the affair. In a conversation drinking liquor a number of confessions emerge and prove how the actress is trying to put a closure to the relationship in a hard process of self-pity and being so hard with herself.

In 'On the Beach at Nigh' the director Hong Sangsoo express his own experience surrounding his own private life and meditates about the meaning of love as an abstract concept.
