Plot
In this film directed by Jon Wright robots come to Earth ensuring that they only want to observe humanity, but then ends subjecting everyone to compulsory confinement. All humans are marked with a device designed to alert aliens who will not hesitate to incinerate anyone who ventures to set foot outside their home. A ray of light will break through in the dark horizon when a group of young people discover how to disable the locator device and is released to regain their freedom and fight to get rid of a threat whose core lies in the base known as The Cube. The leader of this bunch of heroes will be Sean (Callan McAuliffe) an adolescent with the mental ability to interfere with the robots and control them. Gillian Anderson and Ben Kingsley star in 'Robot Overlords', a film written by himself and Mark Wright Stay.

The Deep Scanner machine, with it's tentacle-like pipes, resembles the main monster from the film 'Grabbers'. Jon wright, director of Robot Overlords, previously directed Grabbers.
Mediator 452 uses the same voice modulating effects found in the Video Game Portal for the character GlaDOS.
The opening music is eerily reminiscent of music heard in Alien.
