Plot

Saka is the core of Gurdwara reform movement initiated by the Sikhs in the early twentieth century. The interesting part of this Saka (demonstration or agitation) is unprecedented discipline, self-control and exemplary patience shown by Sikhs peaceful protesters even in the extreme barbarism. Even national leaders like Mahatma Gandhi had to acknowledge the glory and prestige that peaceful and passive resistance of the Sikhs had led the Indian struggle for freedom.

The Gurdwara Nankana Sahib was managed by Mahant Narayan Das early twentieth century. The money and power corrupt returned to Mahant and began using money from the Gurdwara for immoral activities. Later, on February 20, 1921 there was a peaceful protest against Mahant in which all the protesters were brutally murdered.
